Maine Heraldry

Postby Jeremy Keith Hammond » 07 Aug 2012, 14:04

I mentioned this in the AHS forums, but I think I neglected to post about it here. I've started a fairly casual blog where I'll be posting about the uses of heraldry in the state of Maine. It can be found at this address: http://maineheraldry.blogspot.com/

I've been sharing this in various heraldic and vexillology circles.

The recently adopted flag for the City of Bath, Maine by my own design.

I go into the design rationale on my blog:

An excellent design that the City of Bath and its citizens can be proud to fly.

If I have one concern it is that the ship appears to have no masts, with the exception of the bowsprit.

There are also no chains, cordage, or sailors ;-) Only the fine artisan shipbuilders of the city of Bath can build autonomous ships with sails held together by mystic, ethereal forces!

Watch out--you might be cruising for one of those famous New England witch hunts! Anyway, aren't you confusing Bath with Mystic, Connecticut?
