Copper

Not sure where to put this; but I've only come across this rare and unusual heraldic metal in connection with Canadian heraldry; has anyone else come across it in connection with any other heraldic traditions?

So far, I believe that they have only used it for Ecclesiastical heraldry. I have not heard of it being used anywhere else.

I believe its been used in the arms of Kim Campbell; former Prime Minister of Canada.

I didn't know that, but it is certainly good to know. I hope it will be available to all petitioners and not just reserved for 'specials'.

Prime-Minister Campbell's arms are "Or the universal symbol for a woman pendant from its crosspiece a pair of scales Rose and in base three bars wavy Azure on a canton the mark of the Prime Ministership of Canada (Argent four maple leaves conjoined in cross at the stem Gules)".

For me this copper business doesn't work, it looks to much like gold.
