Princess Madeleine, Duchess of Hälsingland and Gästrikland, and her husband Mr Christopher O'Neill, have a new daughter, Adrienne Josephine Alice. She is to be Duchess of Blekinge, the first time ever that Blekinge has had a Duke/Duchess.

Princess Adrienne's arms will doubtless be the usual royal arms with the arms of Blekinge in Q3.

Here are her mother's arms:

and here are the arms of Blekinge:

Mr O'Neill has no arms of his own, and even if he had, they would not feature on the arms of his daughter.

ImageBlekinge coat of arms was created for the funeral procession of king Karl X who just had conquered Blekinge from Denmark. Here on a horse trapper from that procession 4th november 1660.

The three crowns of Sweden taking possession of the oaks of Blekinge (a valuable asset in the days of sail).

The Blekinge arms - and especially as rendered in the OP - are quite nice!
