Hallo Kurt,

I think I would rather put h in Torsten=Thorsten

Casper Vilhelm Mikael Ehrenborg was introduced to Riddarhuset. That is how he in 1817 was registered as Friherre Ehrenborgh.
I think they thought that Ehrenborgh just looked grander.

Ok this is great stuff.

if my goal is to identify the initials and therefore the purpose for the candlestick, other than to illuminate. For this I should concentrate on the branch that used the 'half round' shield since that is what I have ?

So the crown or coronet indicates they are Barons? does this pin down any names? and rule out others?I need a Swedish speaker....? although google is helping.

I've worked out that f. is born g. is married what does the crucifix mean? see file attached. and what does m. mean?

I need to work out who is likely to have been married in 1887 so born maybe 20yr's earlier. With the Male's Initial 'H' since I guess the male's initial would be first on the candlesticks.

I can see male candidates but with different wife's initials. which is annoying

would this publication be 100% comprehensive or does it concentrate solely on the higher members of the family? thus missing out my humble 'H (& B)'

if anybody knows a friendly Swedish genealogist I'd be keen to pay for there services.

I'm finding this whole process fascinating, thanks so much guys.

Paul

There are several of us who speak Swedish.

what does the crucifix mean?

The little cross usually precedes the date of death.

As in Lanerydh ?

I do know Swedes with the "h" at the end of the surname, Sandborgh for example.

The crown on the candlestick is not for a baron so i think you can exclude Ehrenborgh.

I don't the crown means anything, people who aren't even noble have usurped the counts crown, unless it was strictly enforced in Sweden.

Crowns in heraldry is a subject for itself and varies by country as many of you know.

See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crown_(heraldry)

You're right, someone earlier said it was, so I didn't look closely.

i'm getting confused (it isnt difficult)

so some members of the family were barons as one of the coats you have shown had the crown with just the balls lined up (forgive) but mine is, according to the crown menu, is a 'Adelskrona' or Noble Coronet, indicating they are .... simply a noble?

meaning I can rule out Ehrenborgh (with an H) ...?

"someone earlier said it was [a count's crown]"

I did, when the arms were assumed to be Danish, because in Denmark, Norway and some others the count's crown is very similar. I did not have an example of the untitled nobleman's crown handy, nor did I think to look because in England untitled persons don't wear crowns. "Fools rush in ..."
