New Arms of the Diocese of Elblag, Poland

Last Year the Roman Catholic Diocese of Elblag in Poland got new Arms.

In the middle the counterchanged Crosses form the Arms of the City of Elblag.

The old Arms looked like this:

Very nice reworking of a so-so original. Only drawback is likely to be a very busy and somewhat distorted image if impaled with the arms of their bishop.

Easily solved by quartering instead of impaling.

As far as I can see (sorry!) , Polish bishops neither impale nor quarter their arms with those of their See.

Yes they seems to use personal Arms separate for the diocesean one. And it might be worth noticing that many Polish Dioceses dosen't have got any Armorial Bearings at all.
