Here's an uncommon and (I think) attractively patterned field : "semé of stellar lights" in the arms of the Corel Corporation, granted by the Canadian Heraldic Authority in 1996 :

Corel Corporation - CHA 1996.jpg

Arms : Azure semé of stellar lights Or two flaunches barry wavy Or and Bleu-Celeste, overall a bezant charged with seven squares Gules their angles conjoined inwards to form a polygonal C.

Crest : A demi-lion rampant Gules holding with the dexter forepaw from its basket proper a hot air balloon tierced in fesse Azure Or and Bleu-Celeste the sinister forepaw resting on a representation of the globe proper.

Personally, I feel that the field could (and should) have been described in heraldic terms rather than introducing new terminology that can not be understood without the presence of the emblazon!

For better or worse, the official Heralds in a given country set the standards for heraldry within their national jurisdiction. The CHA has introduced a number of new features - e.g. lines of partition, cadency marks for females, inheritance through primogeniture regardless of gender or surname, new coronets for descendants of Loyalists who fled the new US, etc. and coined new names for some of their innovations.

Do you have a suggestion for a blazon?
