The Italian National Corps of Firefighters was in 2009 granted Arms of the President of the Italian Republic:

What is the translation of the motto? Google Translate gave me "fire tame giue hearts" when translating from Latin.

I think it is "We tame the flames, we give our hearts". We might say "We put our hearts into taming fires".

Yes, Chris is correct on the Latin meaning. The idea is that they give their lives (hearts) to the fighting of fire.

Yes, that describes the sense of duty within every firefighter I have ever met.
