Serbian Society Armigers "Milosh Obilich"

The whole composition was ment be symbolic, the ship was chosed to represent the Society itself, the number of armed man are original number of members of Society, the central flag on the mast of ship is the flag of Society (as is the smaller flag down there and those four of shields with Societies arms), other flags are random flags of the members, and all the coat of arms are arms members (except those four on the end).

From people on aboard featured are figures of man in full armor, who is the the President of the Socitey, the figure in heralds gown is Herald of Serbian Royal House of Karadjordjevich, and the female figure in red is the one and only female member of Society.

Dragonic creatures are put to represent the name of the Society. Milosh Obilich is well known name of all Christian World, he's the one of the greatest Serbian heroes of medieval time, the most faithful knight of Serbian Court, the knight who slaughtered Sultan Murat at the Battle of Kosovo in 1389. In Serbian epic poetry Milosh Obilich is represened as dragonic child, that motiv later become the symbol in Milosh's crest, and with that motiv knight is most well known.

The arms on the top represents the lands where the armigers come from (Serbia, Dalmatia, Styria and Bosnia). This version of picture doesn't contain the cartouche with the name of Society, which makes whole composition more comactive, but the autor could add the final version as a link.

Wonderfully whimsical! If I were a member of the society, I would very proud to be included, or even just to have a print on my wall.

Something to be treasured for years to come.

This really is superb : the artwork, the whole concept, and the combination of medieval and modern.

The cog should really ride lower in the water. She would be set on her beam-ends and sunk by any sudden squall.

And we all ask ourselves whose coat of arms holding a mermaid?

We accidentally discovered this work was supposed to be a surprise. What essentially is. But Mr. Branko Todorovic is not currently in the country, so we can all ask him about the details.
