The prestige of the Royal Air Force and historical connections have led several non Commonwealth Countries to adopt emblems in the RAF style. As mentioned earlier during World War II there was several Norwegian, Dutch and Belgian Squadrons serving in the RAF. Upon end of hostilities these squadrons formed the backbone of the rebuilding of the national Air Forces. One part of the process was the creation of Unit Badges, which was following RAF lines. In Norway the Emblems and Mottoes given to the Norwegian Squadrons of the RAF was kept but placed in a "Norwegian" frame which was round but without any wreath and ensigned by the Norwegian Royal Crown, the designation of the Squadron was placed on the brodure together with the inskription Det Kongelige Norske Flyvåpen (Royal Norwegian Air Force, later changed to Luftforsvaret - Air Defence).

Some Units like Air Stations, Control- and Warning Station and Anti Aircraft Artillery Batallions recived type Badges with only the Motto and lettering on the Brodure changing to reflect the Unit. Air Stations has a Falcon, C&W Stations a tripple mount with flames issuing from each peak and AAA Battalion a winged bruning Grenade. This have in recent times changed and all these Unit now have individiual Badges as can be seen here https://forsvaret.no/media/PubImages/Luft-merker-grid.jpg
