My guess it that since both the Life Guards and the Life Regiment Hussars are older units and have different shaped shields, that they were adopted from an older flag or something like that.

I have had some more thougths on the matter and perhaps it could be that the round shield alludes to the roundshaped Arms carried within a Star on the older Uniform Cap. But this is only a guess.

Arms of the former Berga Naval Schools. The Anchor and Torch symbolises the Navy and the School. The Cock Caper-caillie is from the arms of the Municpality of Haninge, the location of the Schools.

Arms of the former Karlskrona Naval Schools. The anchor and the Royal Chyper of HM King Charles XI are form the Arms of the City of Karlskrona.

The two Naval Schools wher united into one in 1997 called in Swedish Örlogsskolorna (The Naval Schools).

In 2004 the Naval Schools was replaced by the Sjöstridsskolan (Sea Combat School) and new arms was called for se below.
