An amazing collection Marcus. Are they from a book? Were the arms really used, if so how - street signs?

I take it these are trade associations or guilds, similar to the livery companies in London and elsewhere.

I like the Bakers' arms. First time I've seen a pretzel in a coat of arms.

Pretzels are the symbol for bakers in Germany as well. Many bakeries have pretzels on their signs, even if they do not bake them.

A coat of arms without a shield, that is unusual.
