Re: Arms of Morganatic Houses
What are the charges on the dexter side of Teck and Urach? They almost appear to be the spines and ribs of an animal.

They're antlers; derived from the original ancestral arms borne by the parent House of Wurttemburg.

You may recognize it from the 1st and 4th quarters of the Porsche badge.

Re: Arms of Morganatic Houses
The arms of the House of Mountbatten (originally Battenburg) were later augmented with, in the Honour point, an inescutcheon of the arms Princess Alice; mother of the wife of Louis, eldest son of the morganatic marriage between Prince Alexander of Hesse and Countess Julie von Hauke. These arms were borne b the male-line descendents of Prince Louis, who had become domisciled in the United Kingdom. The descendents of his younger brother; who had married one of Queen Victoria's daughters, bore their ancestral arms 2 and 3, and the differenced Royal arms 1 and 4.

It does appear the England was an attractive place for members of morganatic families.

They don't look like any antlers I've seen, but I've only seen White-Tail Deer and moose antlers up close.

Traditional heraldry depicts Fallow, Roe, or Red deer. Fallow deer have broad antlers, Roe have small and straight antlers. So this is either a large Roe antler or a straight Red antler, but yes, it isn't instantly recognizable as an antler.

I see now they look most like roe antlers. Thank you.

It is immediately recognizable as an antler by those who are familiar with antlers as charges in heraldry. Just like mill-rinds, mullets, fleams, or water-bougets.
