These facsimiles seem like a novel way of bringing within reach older works that would otherwise be unavailable to most of us. Seeing heraldry through the eyes of writers 150+ years ago is valuable for modern heraldists.
One small point about the blurb:

No, it shouldn't be there at all. I have already alerted John to the fact that the blurb needs changing, he will no doubt attend to it when he is able. Goodness knows where it was copied and pasted from.
