Today, 13 February, is World Radio Day. To mark the occasion, a few radio-related arms.

British Broadcasting Corporation, granted by the College of Arms in 1927.


Lord Reith, who headed the BBC for many years.


South African Broadcasting Corporation, granted by the College of Arms in 1958.

Thank you, Vincent, these are very interesting. I particularly like the Diane Perry arms -- very subtle symbolism.

My favorite is Marconi, at least as rendered above - two lions screaming at each other, with the Fleur de lys signifying the connection by radio!
(Yeah, I know, ex post facto symbolism...but hey, too good to pass up!)

The more recent example are also an interesting virtual "occasional roll"
