A bit of Nonsense from Tintagel

I have had 32 postcards tucked away in a drawer for quite a few years. They are all printed with "A Souvenir from King Arthur's Hall at Tintagel" and "Entered at Stationer's Hall. Copyright" This kind of copyrighting finished in the 50s, so these are probably from the early 60s.

I don't think that the College had any hand in their design. It was most likely done by the Heraldry Division of the Tintagel Tourist Board. Without further ado -

The first one. Pretty bland to start with - it gets better.



And then the same thing in colour.



This one was in colour, but faded (badly).



Two more then on to the shields. First the Lance, then the Spur.

Some of the designs could very well be traditional.

The French heraldist, Pasterou (sp), published a book about the heraldry of the round table - in French, unfortunately. I have tried to purchase a copy on a number of occasions.
