A canting pavilion

Some members of the IAAH and the Forum may have seen this on Facebook. The story behind it is that I was discussing heraldry and ways of illustrating it with a Facebook friend at the weekend, and the idea of this came floating across my consciousness.


I am sure that some people will get the canting nature of it. If you can, please say what you think it is.

Although the artist chose to put the shield in, I was rather hoping for it to be left out. Some people have suggested that it be used as a basis for a bookplate, and I think that is the route down which I would like to travel.
