Combing personal and non-personal arms
What are the ways to combine a person arms with non-personal arms, such as arms of office.

Impaling, quartering, or by inescutcheon; maybe others.
Impaling is the Anglophone norm; arms of office to dexter.
German, Dutch, and Scandinavian bishops usually quarter the arms of their sees with their personal arms. And since you're talking about non-personal arms generally, many arms of German nobility incorporate quarterings for territorial holdings.
In the Holy Roman Empire, the high imperial officers were entitled to an inescutcheon with the insignia of the office.
