Here is an interesting old book illustrating the heraldry of the Baltic nobility, mostly German families so the style is very Teutonic.

I note that the Howen arms are identical to the State Arms of Sweden. Not all that uncommon, unfortunately, but still…

For those who can understand German, and who can decipher Gothic print, there is a chapter at the end that gives a potted history of each family.
