Facebook and the IAAH

On 1 May we shall open a closed Facebook group available only to Fellows, Associate Fellows and Members of the IAAH - a "members' lounge" on Facebook. People who are only members of this Forum and the public in general will have no access and indeed be unable to see its presence on FB.

So if you are a member of this Forum but not of the Association, or simply visiting, and wish to have access to us on Facebook you will need to become a Member of the IAAH. The application form is here:

http://fs8.formsite.com/secretary/membership-application/index.html

The idea is to encourage more interaction between members, some of whom visit the Forum only rarely, but use FB regularly. This does not mean that the Forum is rendered obsolete. On the contrary, we hope that the FB Group will help to remind members of the Forum's existence. Material that has long-term interest will be copied to the appropriate area of the Forum where it may be accessed (we trust) in future years, whereas the FB material will be harder to find the longer it has not been accessed and of course will have no sub-sets (e.g. Spanish Heraldry) where one can look for specific items.

Will the Facebook group link also be posted in this thread?

This is a good idea! Facebook generally is open to all comers, which is both a blessing and a curse ;)

So when this new space opens, how do we access it? (I think this is the same as Mark's question...)

Thanks!!

This thread is addressed principally to members of the Forum and others who are not members of the IAAH.

Fellows, Associate Fellows and Members of the IAAH should look at the thread in the Members' Lounge.

Been a long time since I've logged in here ;)

Any news on this group? I have not seen it on Facebook.

You have to be invited - which you will be!

You are in Jonathan.

At the moment one has to be a FB "friend" to get invited. This is inconveniently bureaucratic and we need to find a fix.

It's been a week, did I use the correct form? If I didn't, please send me a link to the correct application document. Thank you.
