The College of Arms have put up an online exhibition of some documents and documents about the investiture of the Prince of Wales fifty years ago : https://www.college-of-arms.gov.uk/news ... e-of-wales .

The documents include some correspondence about the use of the Great Seal, which is topical, given our recent discussion in the post about 'A Pursuivant's Patent'.

I own one of the chairs made for the guests at the investiture.

Not so much. It is consigned to a bedroom because the foam filling of the seat-cushion has turned to dust. The only conversation is between me and it as to whether it should be sold or consigned to the skip. So far the chair has withstood my suggestions.

Why not simply have it re-upholstered?

Well, it would hardly be noticeable would it. Better to have been restored that destroyed surely?

If you do decide to throw it away, I'm absolutely sure that there are quite a few people who wouldn't mind in the least having it thrown in their direction and wouldn't mind one bit having it re-stuffed.
