Recent grant to Stanfield

Postby Arthur Radburn » 29 May 2017, 18:35

A recent College of Arms grant, to a Cambridge solicitor named Glynne Stanfield.

Rather a unusual arrangement of books in the centre of the shield, namely "four Open Books in saltire tops manifest spines inwards Or the pages fanned out Argent."

Which ties together the shield and crest!

Very nice!

A bit busy, but beautifully emblazoned!

Not a big fan of arms where you can't tell (within a biological family or two) what you're looking at without a copy of the blazon. Cleverness is not always a virtue. Or perhaps I'm just cranky after being up all night waiting to find out what a covfefe is.

Covfefe?? ;)
(If you had to stay up all night, I assume a simple Google search wouldn't tell me...)
