Sunrise, Sunset
Is there a difference in the depiction of the sunrise and the sunset so that it is clear which one is meant?

Re: Sunrise, Sunset
I have quickly looked through my reference books and can find sunrise and sunset only in Boutell. But even there help is not to hand:
So basically Boutell is saying, if the sun is rising or setting, the blazon will specify this. We can surmise that the sun in question is to be shown either peeping from behind a cloud or, more likely a demi-sun issuant from a tremount or a wall. A blazon might be: Azure, issuant from a Tremount (in base) Vert a Sunrise being a Demi-sun of ten rays Or.
Julian Franklyn's verbose "Shield & Crest" goes on for over a page about the sun, but fails to mention sunrise and sunset. He does however cover eclipses.
In some cases, always to be specified, the sun appears ... as rising or setting ...
