Some interesting aspects to the items in this newsletter.

The (re-)grant of arms to Queen Camilla is an example of "different rules for royals". They have been granted as impaled marital arms, and the insignia of an honour (the Garter) is stated in the blazon.

The images of the new badges for the UK armed forces linked in the newsletter, reveal that they use a slightly different version of the crown from that used on the royal arms and cipher. The transverse arch isn't a smooth curve, but has a noticeable bend in it. And there is a ridge above the gemstones.

Dear Arthur,

It is the same crown - just a different representation.

Artistic license, surely!

Thanks, Chris. Pity they didn't include images of the two recent grants they described. However, I found this image of the British Institute of Radiology's arms on their website. Not the College painting, but a digital rendition by Quentin Peacock.
