Diapering
Are there any hard and fast rules for diapering on arms?

Re: Diapering
Don't?
Or if you really really must, be subtle.

Re: Diapering
Naturally, nothing to suggest otherwise. Thanks.

Re: Diapering
My response looks a bit trite on second look. But in the absence of hard and fast rules, I should suggest the following:
1) Keep it subtle.
2) Don't diaper if it could interfere with the "visibility" of the charges. (Fridge door test.)
3) The diaper shouldn't be capable of being mistaken for charges or confuse lines of division.
4) Resist the temptation to diaper everything.
There may be other "rules" I've missed.

Re: Diapering
Good criteria!
I've generally thought of diapering as a sort of brocade, usually in a darker or lighter shade of the same tincture as the background because that is least likely to be mistaken for a heraldically significant pattern e.g. semee of whatever; but that may be too narrow a view

Re: Diapering
The criteria from Chris seems to cover the necessary points, I have found nothing additional to add.

Excellent. Try it again without the shading on the crosses.

Re: Diapering
Mark - very nice! On my cellphone, the diapering is visible - quite attractive but not distracting - when I enlarge the image; but disappears when I shrink it down.
