Arms: Quarterly; 1st & 4th; Sable, three passion nail's in fess surrounded by a crown of thorns, which is in turn surrounded by seven fleurs de lis in orle, all Or. 2nd & 3rd; Azure, an Eagle displayed Or charged on the breast with an escutcheon Gules a cross ensigned with a coronet and in chief an estoile of eight points between two fleur-de-lis also Or.
Crest: A demi lion Or holding with its dexter arm the cross of St James Or.
Motto: Fides, Sapientia, Virtus (Faith, Wisdom, Virtue) was the motto of John's father.
