Symbolism: The triple towered castle over waves of water represents Morro Castle in Puerto Rico, a place near which Capt. Sánchez was born. The flags represent: in the centre Puerto Rico, the country where he was born; to dexter the United States of America, the country that he serves in the USAF; to sinister Spain, the country that discovered the island of Puerto Rico, represented by the cross of Burgundy which was the Spanish military flag from the 16th century up to 1843.
